Pencil portrait drawing rubric I can draw a face with the correct proportions – head shape & feature placement: 4 I can draw features the correct size in relation to each other and the head: 5 I can create the illusion of three dimensions by drawing around the surface of the face to create the form of a head: 5 I can indicate light by using a scale of values for shadows and highlights: 4 I can draw with the pencil and not smudge so I create clear textures for skin, hair and any other details: 5 TOTAL 23 /25 For the skull drawing I learned about the proportions of a head. To draw a head or skull in this case you must draw a rectangle and then draw an oval inside the rectangle to get started. Draw markings for the mouth and nose. For the eyes they should be in the middle of the face and big enough that you can draw a third eye in between the two eyes. IMPRESSIONIST LANDSCAPE DRAWING RUBRIC I can upload on my website two separate photographs with my finished drawings: 5 I can draw big shapes to represent a landscape with foreground, middle-ground, back-ground & sky: 5 I can create the illusion of three dimensions by using relative size, overlap and value changes. Things in front will be larger and more detailed: 4 I can indicate light by using complementary colors for shadows and highlights: 4 I can draw with the chalk and not smudge so I have a thickly drawn image with lots of contrast: 5 Total 23/25 Second Impressionist Drawing: My favorite of the two impressionistic drawings was my "Second Impression Drawing". This project I worked on is called impression art which is drawn with heavy chalk. Heavy chalk is that on the drawing there is enough chalk where the background is completely covered and cannot be seen at all. The new skill I learned from this project is that when using chalk to use the lighter colors first and then progress to the darker colors because it is harder to make colors lighter than darker. The art elements for this project is to have big shape to represent a landscape with foreground, middle-ground, background, and sky, have an illusion of 3-D, complementary colors, highlights and shadows, and thick lines. The feeling of my favorite drawing is that I tried to make it happy and feel like fall but it still has the colder side (darker colors) that show how brutal and cold the mornings are. |
