So far this year I have learned many things. The skills I have learned throughout the semister was that I learned how to anchor my hand when I draw or paint or just do art overall. Also I learned to crosshatch. Anchoring my hand over my artwork is important because well 1. So it doesn’t smear and 2. If I am crosshatching then it makes it easier to get more lines in the art to make the artwork therefore better than it was before. Crosshatching is important because it makes the object more detailed which also makes the art better than without the crosshatching. Cross hatching helps a person see more into the detail of the makings of an object which is important for making a drawing realistic. After learning how to cross hatch we learned how to paint impressionistically; painting apples, haystacks, parliament after Monet, and painting a face. How to correctly draw a face; measured and guided. Also I learned to draw a skull. The sculpture of a head is very complicated and hard to learn. I started making my first clay project today and I learned how to make a pinch pot. Next we learned to make a soft slab cup and finally for our last clay project we learned how to make a firm slab box by making a 90 degree edge by joining two 45 degree angles. Our very last project before the semester is over is learning how to use all the tools and effects on the iPad drawing apps.
